About Pure Elsewhere

You may be wondering how I decided to name this blog.
Then again, you may not care.
I’m going to tell you anyway. That’s how this works

Pure elsewhere has a two-fold meaning to me.

Specifically, Elsewhere is the name of one of my favourite books. It was also one of the first books I read.
It was my first taste of the wonderful world of Fantasy and Make Believe for Grown Ups and looking back I can honestly say it rocked my world.
That first little taste of imagining really unbound my mind, and set it free to wander through ideas and notions I’d never contemplated contemplating before.
And you know what they say, you never forget your first…

On a more general note, Pure Elsewhere is exactly what I expect to find between the covers of a new book.
When I go out there, browse around, and finally settle on a piece of reading material, and make that purchase, I want to go home, open the book, and be sucked into Somewhere Else. That is why I read, to get Elsewhere.

Magic happens bitches!

I keep trying to plan this blog, to map out where I want to go, and where I want to end up, but I keep failing at every turn, and I think that is because when I give myself rules, what I’m doing loses all flavour and fun. So at the moment my blog is an amorphous blob… BUT I WILL BUILD IT!

So…. there you go, I don’t know what my blog is going to be when it grows up
